news-details
  • Last January, Rodman was awarded the contract for the design and construction of 3 units of the Rodman 111 height patrol boat model.
  • After the initial design phase, Rodman has begun the construction of these patrol boats.

Rodman Polyships SAU, a Rodman Group shipyard specializing in the construction of all types of GRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester) vessels, is building 3 new offshore patrol boats for the surveillance service of the State Tax Administration Agency.

The signing of this new contract took place in January and after a few initial months of project design and planning phase, Rodman is now in the construction phase of the first units. These days the initial lamination phase of the first unit has been successfully completed.

The execution period is 36 months for all the units, 16 months for the first vessel and later the remaining 2 will be delivered with a cadence of 10 months between each one.

The new Rodman 111 will be high-altitude patrol boats, intended for patrol tasks at sea, suppression of smuggling, interception, visit, visit, search, physical presence and surveillance of compliance with national and international laws. All these tasks will be carried out with maximum respect for the comfort and safety of the crew, which will be made up of ten people.

This new and important order reinforces the experience, know-how and knowledge of Rodman in the design and construction of large patrol boats, consolidating the relationship and trust of the AEAT, in this Rodman 111 model, after the delivery two years ago of the Rodman 138, patrol boat of height of 43 m in length, the largest built in Polyester reinforced with fiberglass, to date.

Main Technical Characteristics:

Rodman 111: height patrol boat

With an overall length of 35.3 meters, this model of Patrol Boat has been developed by Rodman's design, development and engineering teams, perfectly combining high performance, reliability, construction quality and navigation characteristics.

The vessels will be equipped with two marine diesel engines, which propel Waterjets with integrated gearboxes, which will allow them to reach maximum speeds of 35 knots. Each boat will have:

  • Main Engines: 2 CUMMINS engines, model QSK60-M
  • Water Jets: 2 KAMEWA Waterjets, model S63-3/CA.
  • Gearboxes: 2 ZF Gearboxes, model ZF 8000

The Rodman 111 has been designed for a crew of 10 people. With a range of 1,432 miles at economic speed (19 knots), they will be able to spend long periods at sea, which will be an advantage from an operational and effectiveness point of view.

The most modern navigation and electronic equipment will be installed.

Summary of Technical Characteristics:

  • overall length: 35.30 m
  • Total beam: 6.20 m
  • Main deck strut: 3.40 m
